Kenneth Proudfoot: A Brief Biography
Kenneth Proudfoot, Director of the NOKOMIS INSTITUTE, is a writer, author, teacher, and film producer. He also has a diverse background and extensive experience in entrepreneurship education, advertising, fundraising, and the arts. He was the Founding Director of the Larry Friedman International Center for Entrepreneurship at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.
He has been a trade newspaper publisher and special event producer, owner of hot dog vending carts and Paco’s Tacos Mexican Restaurant, Associate Professor at Johnson & Wales University, gyotaku fish print artist, creative director for business re-branding, micro-enterprise teacher, education grant writer, author and motivational speaker. He has launched a new series of Business and Art Seminars and Workshops that are posted on this web site.
His education background is in business and advertising, publishing, with post grad work in university teaching (Harvard University), graphic arts (Rhode Island School of Design), and Agricultural Entrepreneurship (Penn State). He has helped design, fund raise and build successful development programs for colleges, high schools, and non-profits.
He is the author and/or editor of a half dozen books.
His most recent book is The Official 2018 Newport Tour Guides & Greeters Handbook, published in December, 2017. This special edition is the first annual reference book for the Newport tour and travel industry. His previous book was The Life & Business Philosophy of Austin T. Levy: Visionary Entrepreneur (2015), was an accompaniment to the 2016 documentary film, "The Amazing Life & Times of Austin T. Levy."
He is a film producer, whose most recent documentary is "The Amazing Life & Times of Austin T. Levy." This 55-minute film premiered in Harrisville, RI on October 1, 2016.
